WELCOME to visitor

I hope you enjoy reading the content as much as I have enjoyed putting it together.
Michael Robinson July 2009

This site started off as part of my main website but after “Great News” (see below) I thought it would be good to separate and expand the content. It will focus mainly on my Dads part in WW2 but also includes a bit about his life and will eventually include trips He and Mum made to Holland to visit my Uncle Georgie’s grave (killed in WW2) and their trips with Battlefield Tours.

This will be updated quite a bit so don’t forget to come back to see the latest additions

GREAT NEWS!!

Navy 001
In May 2009 we decided to put Dads “Tin Hat” on eBay, It was immediately seen by Cesare in Sicily who emailed to say “This should be in a Museum in Sicily” well he won the Hat and a copy of the “Eighth Army News” that Dad had kept. Via emails a friendship developed with Cesare and we offered him Dads White Navy Uniform which he accepted with glee!! Thankfully both parcels arrived safely so I can now announce that “Mick is back in Sicily” one country he visited that I know he enjoyed despite the conflict.

So who is Cesare? Well he works with a Museum in Sicily; eventually they will have a British section and Guess what? Mick will be one of the first British veterans on display. I also sent Cesare Dads account, in his own words, of the Sicily landings and he has created a great map showing where the landings were and a translation into Italian - you can see the translation on the Cesare page of this site.

I have given Cesare permission to copy any Data he might require from this site.

CESARE has already sent me some pictures which are included in the 1942-1945 page

AND his exhibition at the Lambada Doria with Dads Uniform and Tin Helmet on my Sicily Museum page
